What inspired you to write "The Other Black Girl"?
Zakiya: My experiences in the publishing industry as a Black woman inspired me to explore the complexities of race and identity in a predominantly white workspace.

Q: What themes do you hope readers take away from your book?
Zakiya: I hope readers reflect on the importance of allyship and the subtle yet profound ways race impacts our daily interactions.

Q: What's next for you?
